FontAudition version chooser

Which FontAudition do you need?

FontAudition WFE and FontAudition Desktop are separate App Store products, and there is a discounted bundle of the two. This page exists to prevent the wrong purchase: WFE runs inside Final Cut Pro, Desktop is the standalone Mac app, and the bundle covers both.

Quick Choice

If you edit in Final Cut Pro

FontAudition WFE

The workflow extension. It opens beside your timeline, auditions type against your real title text, and drags the font you pick into the edit as a ready-to-edit title. Requires Final Cut Pro.

If your type work is anywhere else

FontAudition Desktop

The standalone Mac app. Your words in every font on your Mac, with font servers and folders, a free-font browser, and drag-and-drop into Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Figma, and Pages.

If it is genuinely both

The bundle

Both apps together, at a discount on the App Store. Already own one? Apple's Complete My Bundle credits what you paid toward the bundle price, so you pay only the difference.

Feature Comparison

The bundle is the two apps together, so it does everything both do. What it changes is the price, not the feature list.

Purchase Guidance

I use Final Cut Pro. Which should I buy?

Buy FontAudition WFE if the only place you choose type is inside Final Cut Pro. If you also set type in design, document, or image apps, the bundle covers both for less than buying them separately.

I do not use Final Cut Pro. Which should I buy?

Buy FontAudition Desktop. FontAudition WFE is a workflow extension and will not run without Final Cut Pro, so it would leave you with something you cannot open.

Can I start with one and add the other later?

Yes, and you will not be charged twice for the app you already own. The App Store's Complete My Bundle feature credits what you already spent toward the bundle price, so you pay only the balance. Sign in to the App Store and the bundle page shows the price that applies to you. Both apps also stay on sale individually, so the bundle is never the only way to get an update.

Why is there a bundle at all?

Plenty of people cut in Final Cut Pro on Monday and design a poster on Tuesday. The two apps share one interface and one idea; the bundle just makes owning both cheaper than buying them one at a time.
