FontAudition WFE guide

How FontAudition WFE works.

FontAudition WFE keeps the type decision where the edit already is. Open it beside your timeline, audition fonts against the words you actually have to deliver, then bring your choice into the cut.

Requires Final Cut Pro. This guide describes the Final Cut Pro workflow extension. It is not a standalone app. If you work outside Final Cut Pro, see FontAudition for macOS.

Three steps, beside the timeline.

  1. 01

Open FontAudition WFE from Final Cut Pro.

Use the workflow extension version when your type decision belongs inside the edit. It keeps the font auditioning step close to the timeline.

  2. 02

Browse fonts with your title text.

Enter the sample text you are designing for, then compare fonts visually instead of guessing from a generic font menu.

  3. 03

Pick the type direction for the edit.

Use it for titles, lower thirds, captions, supers, and graphic packages where the font choice needs to be reviewed in context with the cut.

Not sure this is the right FontAudition?

FontAudition WFE only works inside Final Cut Pro. If your type work happens in other Mac apps, the standalone FontAudition for macOS app is the one being built for that — it is not released yet, and the workflow extension is not a substitute for it.
